ISU Student Experience

Heather Hagens

I am originally from Appleton, WI and went to college at the University of Minnesota. I majored in Animal Science and minored in Biology. I am currently a second year vet student at Iowa State University. I would like to work with small animals and am leaning toward emergency medicine. I am also interested in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. In vet school I am involved in Surgery Club, the Student Chapter of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Club, and Zoo, Exotics and Wildlife (ZEW) Club. I am also a member of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA). Outside of school I love to travel and be outdoors. I enjoy hiking and camping, cooking, and spending time with family.
