Dr. Amanda Murrane
DVM Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Amanda Murrane is originally from Colorado and moved to Iowa in the spring of 2026. She attended the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, she spent several years exploring different veterinary practices and careers and obtaining valuable experience along the way. She worked in general practice, small animal emergency and with specialists (Surgeon, Neurologist, Radiologist, Internist, Rehabilitation Therapist). During this time, she specifically focused on building technical/hands-on skills. While working on her Doctoral degree from the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine, she would still return home during the summers and work as a Technician at a Small Animal Emergency practice. After graduating, she re-joined the practice as an Emergency Veterinarian in 2021. Her professional interests include complex case management, soft tissue surgery, as well as, team development and education. Aside from work, she enjoys gardening and golfing with her husband. When the heat and humidity drive them inside, Dr. Murrane can most often be found in the company of two cats, surrounded by the three dogs, working on a cross-stitch project.
