Veterinary Surgery
As an extension of the Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Surgery Services of the ISU Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC), Drs. Kenzig and Law are happy to provide consultations for any patient requiring surgical treatment. However, due to resource and personnel limitations, not all diagnostic imaging, testing, or surgery can be performed at IVS. Procedures that can typically be performed at IVS include elective orthopedic procedures, such as surgery for cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL/ACL) disease (TPLO/Lateral Suture), patella (knee cap) luxation, and femoral head/neck ostectomies (FHO), as well as certain tumor/mass removals.
For diagnostics and treatments not available at IVS (including ultrasound, MRI, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy), or procedures where patients would be better served with the additional support of other specialty services (such as anesthesiology, critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, and/or oncology), scheduling for further care at ISU LVMC will be facilitated directly through the Surgery Service at IVS after initial consultation. We encourage our referral partners and patient families to contact us via email at surgery@ivsdsm.com for questions regarding potential referrals or care for your loved ones.
